M1 is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic to support the T‑6 flightline. The role involves maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and operational support of assigned aircraft.
Responsibilities- Performs maintenance and repair of assigned aircraft.
- Coordinates maintenance activities with senior section personnel.
- Accomplishes inspections: preflight, thru‑flight, and BPO.
- Services aircraft for flight as required.
- Launches and recovers aircraft.
- Uses schematic diagrams, drawings, charts, and technical publications for operating, testing, and removing tasks.
- Removes, inspects, and reinstalls aircraft components including flight control surfaces, throttle components, landing gear components, gearbox assemblies, brake assemblies, and aircraft engines.
- Rigs flight controls, canopies, throttles, and landing gear.
- Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and operational checks of all aircraft systems.
- Practices good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention, and safety at all times.
- Performs aircraft conditional inspections.
- Operates ground support equipment and handles hand tools, special tools, and fixtures applicable to assigned aircraft.
- Performs all required aircraft servicing tasks and ground movement tasks.
- Annotates maintenance actions in aircraft records and documents using CAMS.
- May be required to acquire and maintain engine run certification, Red X certification, and qualification on different MDS aircraft.
- Promotes company values, policies, and standards of conduct.
- Ensures professional coordination with Operations and other base agencies.
- Assists other personnel and work centers as directed.
- Performs other duties assigned, including TDY and travel.
- Receives cross‑utilization training and is qualified to perform those maintenance tasks.
- Is able to work day, night, or weekend shifts as required.
- Working knowledge of jet aircraft systems and proficiency in common hand tools and special tools.
- Understanding of aircraft maintenance safety requirements and ability to operate portable fire‑fighting equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Reading, writing, speaking, and understanding of English.
- Ability to read and comprehend technical data.
- Minimum 12 months experience as an aircraft mechanic or equivalent maintenance position.
- Completion of a military or civilian aviation maintenance school with a diploma or certificate of completion.
- Alternatively, minimum 18 months experience in aviation maintenance as an aircraft worker or servicer with 6 months of BPO experience or certification. Completion of Air Force 3 Level CDC Aircraft Mechanic Course or equivalent is desired.
- Capability to obtain and maintain a flight‑line driver’s license; may also require a Class CDL.
