D2 Government Solutions (D2GS) is seeking qualified Aircrew Flight Equipment (AFE) Technicians / Parachute Riggers to support critical Air Force flight operations at Columbus Air Force Base, Mississippi
. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and mission readiness of aircrew members through the inspection, maintenance, repair, and documentation of life-support and survival equipment.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with military aviation life-support systems, parachutes, survival equipment, and related maintenance procedures. Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect, repair, modify, and repack T-6 and T-38 aircraft-installed parachutes in accordance with applicable Technical Orders and Air Force requirements.
  • Participate in required two-person inspection processes for parachute assemblies.
  • Inspect, repair, maintain, and track flotation devices, life preservers, life rafts, and related equipment.
  • Maintain and repair torso harnesses, anti-G garments, helmet visor snap fittings, and physiological training equipment.
  • Fabricate, modify, and repair Vision Restriction Devices (VRDs) and related training equipment.
  • Repair and alter flight suits, flight jackets, patches, Velcro, and rank insignia as required.
  • Perform sewing and fabrication tasks using industrial sewing equipment.
  • Assist with maintenance and operational readiness of parachute presses and related equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records for inspections, repairs, modifications, inventory tracking, and scheduled service intervals.
  • Support compliance programs including safety, hazardous materials handling, Technical Orders, tool control (CTK), supply management, and TMDE requirements.
  • Report equipment deficiencies, safety concerns, and quality issues to leadership.
  • Maintain a clean, professional, and inspection-ready work environment.
  • Comply with all installation access, security, environmental, and safety requirements.
Required Qualifications

Candidates must meet one or more of the following requirements:

  • Former Air Force Aircrew Life Support Specialist (AFSC 1T1X1)
  • Former Air Force Survival Equipment Specialist (AFSC 2A7X4)
  • Former Air Force Aircrew Flight Equipment Specialist (AFSC 1P0X1)
  • Equivalent military training or experience in parachute rigging, survival equipment, aviation life support, or AFE operations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience maintaining, repairing, and repacking T-6 and/or T-38 parachute systems.
  • Experience with life rafts, flotation equipment, harness assemblies, anti-G garments, and other AFE equipment.
  • Knowledge of Air Force AFE procedures, Technical Orders, and documentation requirements.
  • Military aviation or flight-training support experience.
  • Sewing, fabrication, and garment repair experience.
  • Experience working in a safety-sensitive, quality-controlled environment.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong understanding of aircrew life-support equipment and inspection procedures.
  • Ability to interpret and follow Technical Orders, Air Force guidance, and operating instructions.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills and professional interaction with Government personnel and coworkers.
