We are seeking a highly organized and driven Driver Manager to oversee daily fleet operations within a flatbed, oversize, and over dimensional transportation environment. This role is the primary point of contact for drivers and is responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operations while delivering exceptional customer service.

The ideal candidate will balance driver support, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and profitability while promoting a strong culture of safety and accountability.

Key Responsibilities Fleet Supervision & Driver Management

  • Works

with Jones Transport to secure loads from United Rentals along with booking backhauls back to origin.

  • Evaluates each drivers performance & supervises fleet during shift.
  • Assist drivers and coach on fuel network if fuel needed out of network.
  • Comply with current and documented processes, policies and procedures.
  • Be a driver advocate and work to manage driver utilization, service levels and quality-of-life.
  • Respond to mobile communication messages within 15 minutes.
  • Report service failures and/or performance issues by drivers in a professional and timely manner.
  • Hold drivers accountable for given work assignments and follow through of dispatch.
  • Report any absences, injuries, or notices to HR and Operations.
  • Report any equipment maintenance issues to Maintenance and Operations by email
  • Understand/update the current status of all drivers and their locations.
  • Understand and have working knowledge for current hours of service guidelines and enforce compliance.
  • Monitor camera generated events and coach drivers on ways to improve safe operations of vehicle.
  • Maintain honesty and integrity in all communications with customers, drivers and fellow employees.
  • Follow through with any suggested or required training by supervisor.
  • Enter orders, plan and dispatch drivers.
  • Compliance & Safety
  • Enforce DOT regulations, Hours of Service, and company policies
  • Monitor driver logs, routes, and permit compliance
  • Ensure proper cargo securement for flatbed and heavy haul loads
  • Partner with Safety and Maintenance to address issues proactively
  • Promote a safety-first culture to reduce incidents and service disruptions
  • Update any customer websites on a daily basis. them and execute those plans.
  • Maintain customer spreadsheets on a daily basis.
  • Order overweight permits in a timely manner, if applicable
  • Coordinate with Customers to complete customer orders in a timely manner.
  • Achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) in areas such as on‑time delivery, utilization, fuel efficiency, loaded miles, deadhead reduction, Idle time, and TMW accuracy.
  • Work cross departmentally to balance driver capacity and meet service goals.
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvement and efficiency, create plans to address

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of flatbed, oversize, and heavy haul operations
  • Understanding of DOT regulations and Hours of Service
  • Experience with telematics, ELDs, and safety monitoring systems
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in TMS systems, spreadsheets, and customer portals

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of experience in transportation, dispatch, or fleet management
  • Experience with oversize/over dimensional freight and permit coordination
  • Familiarity with route planning and heavy haul regulations
  • Experience with ELD systems and in‑cab camera platforms
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience

Work Environment

  • Office-based role with frequent communication with drivers and customers
  • Fast‑paced environment requiring strong decision‑making skills
  • Occasional after‑hours support for operations and driver needs
