Senior Accountant – Quick Books Online & Inventory Focus

Columbus, NE | $25-30/hr DOE | Part-Time with Full-Time Potential

Are you an experienced accountant who enjoys digging into the details and making a real impact on a growing business? We're seeking a Senior Accountant to join an established, agriculture-based company with $5–10 million in annual revenue. This is an opportunity to take ownership of key accounting functions, work closely with leadership and help streamline processes in a collaborative environment.

Start part-time at 20-25 hours per week with a strong opportunity to transition into a full-time role. Hybrid or remote flexibility may be considered for the right candidate.

Lead day-to-day accounting operations using Quick Books Online

Manage inventory records, cycle counts and item setup

Ensure accurate ledger coding and maintain sales pricing records

Process vendor bills and oversee accounts payable

Review customer billing, invoices and monthly statements

Manage accounts receivable collections

Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations

Maintain and close the general ledger

Prepare 1099s and account reconciliations

Assist with financial statements and management reports for the CFO

Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow analysis

Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies

Significant inventory accounting experience is required

3+ years of accounting experience

Experience with Quick Books Online

Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel

Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred

Background in agriculture or construction

Experience working with inventory-intensive businesses

Interest in leveraging AI tools to improve operations and reporting

A self-starter who works independently and proactively

Someone who is detail-oriented and committed to accuracy

A team player with leadership qualities and a collaborative mindset

Pay: $25-30/hour, depending on experience

Schedule: 20-25 hours per week initially
