Job Title: Staffing Coordinator

Location: Columbus, NE

Organization: Emerald Nursing and Rehab Columbus

Job Type: Full Time M-F 8-5

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Staffing Coordinator/Scheduler to join our team. As a Staffing Coordinator, you will play a critical role in coordinating and maintaining nursing staff schedules to ensure our residents receive the best care possible. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage staff schedules for nursing and support teams
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels in accordance with state regulations and facility needs
  • Communicate shift changes, open shifts, and schedule updates to staff in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, time-off requests, and shift swaps
  • Collaborate with HR and nursing leadership to address staffing challenges
  • Assist with recruiting and onboarding new staff as needed
  • Monitor compliance with policies related to attendance, punctuality, and staffing requirements
  • Provide support in handling last‑minute schedule adjustments due to emergencies or call-offs
Qualifications
  • Prior experience in scheduling, preferably in a healthcare or skilled nursing setting
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with scheduling software (experience with Apploi, OnShift, or similar is a plus)
  • Knowledge of state staffing regulations for skilled nursing facilities
  • Team player with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
