Location: Columbus, NE (Projects in Albion, Elgin & Spalding areas)
Pay: $21.00 - $26.00/hour (DOE)
Shift: Full-Time (hours may vary; early mornings and travel as needed)
Job Type: Full-Time
Position Overview
We are hiring motivated Construction Laborers to join a growing crew working on a variety of projects including feedlots, swine barns, housing, convenience stores and more. This is a hands-on role where you'll support all phases of construction from site prep to finishing work while maintaining safety, quality and efficiency on every job site.
Key Responsibilities
Safety
- Follow all PPE requirements and OSHA safety standards
- Identify and communicate job site hazards
- Maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment
- Safely operate tools, equipment and vehicles
- Perform tasks such as carpentry, concrete work, plumbing, roofing, drywall, painting and dirt work
- Read and follow blueprints and construction plans
- Ensure all work meets company standards and building codes
- Handle and store materials properly to prevent waste or damage
- Assist with site setup, preparation and cleanup
- Load, unload and organize materials
- Support project timelines by completing tasks efficiently
- Help track and manage tools, equipment and supplies
- Work closely with crew members, leads and subcontractors
- Follow direction from supervisors and contribute to team productivity
- Communicate progress, challenges and needs clearly
- Maintain a professional and positive job site attitude
- High school diploma or GED required
- Construction, general labor, carpentry or concrete experience preferred
- Experience using hand and power tools required
- Ability to read basic blueprints and measurements
- Skid steer or light equipment experience is a plus
- Basic electrical knowledge is a plus
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required (for company vehicle use)
- Strong work ethic and ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to stand, walk and perform physical labor for 8+ hours per day
- Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds regularly
- Frequent bending, kneeling, stooping and reaching
- Ability to work in all weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, dust)
