Position Summary
Temporary, Full‑time position within the Gage Undergraduate Admissions traveling team. The role involves travel throughout North Carolina and South Carolina and potentially other out‑of‑state markets, with duties that include counseling prospective students, supporting recruitment activities, and attending admissions events.
Employment Details- Position Designation: Non‑Student Temporary
- Employment Type: Temporary – Full‑time
- Hours per Week: 40
- Work Schedule: Monday‑Friday daytime, evening and weekend hours as needed to cover recruitment.
- Pay Rate: $2,666 per month
- Work Location: Gage Undergraduate Admissions – Traveling (North Carolina, South Carolina, and other target markets)
- Temporary staff are ineligible for leave, health coverage, State service credit, etc., but are covered by Workers Compensation provisions.
- Employees working 30 or more hours per week for three months or more (not a variable‑hour worker) are eligible to enroll in a High Deductible Health Plan within 30 days of becoming eligible.
- Employees working fewer than 30 hours per week who average 30 or more hours over a measurement period are offered the High Deductible Health Plan.
- Temporary hourly workers (FTE ≥ .75 or measured full‑time) with duration > 30 days are offered the high deductible health insurance; these positions do not provide leave accrual or retirement benefits.
- Temporary salaried workers (duration > 30 days) are reported as full‑time and offered the high deductible health insurance.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience from an appropriately accredited institution.
- Ability to maintain a high level of customer service.
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and representational communication skills; strong work ethic.
- Ability to travel in and out of state.
- Recent UNC Charlotte graduate with knowledge of University programs including student services and academics.
- Travel extensively in North Carolina, South Carolina, and other out‑of‑state target markets.
- Counsel and advise prospective first‑year and transfer students on admissions requirements, policies, and procedures on location or virtually, via phone and email.
- Work non‑traditional hours as needed.
- Assist with targeted recruitment activities.
- Assist with admissions events.
- A vehicle will be provided for all travel.
- Professional training and career development opportunities.
A valid driver’s license.
