- Associate Degree in Nursing, RN required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
General Summary
- Works in collaboration with the Dean of Instruction-Nursing and Nursing Program Director to provide quality education services for Central Community College nursing students. Supports student success and improves retention and graduation rates within the nursing program. Collaborates closely with faculty to proactively identify students who are at-risk of academic or clinical failure. Utilizes resources that are appropriate to assist students.
Develops and implements data-driven retention strategies to enhance student persistence and success.
Essential Functions
- Collaborates with faculty to identify at-risk students early in each academic term based on academic performance, attendance, clinical evaluations, and other indicators. Facilitates communication between student and faculty when challenges arise, advocating for timely support and resolution.

- Leads retention-focused initiatives, including peer-mentoring programs, academic workshops, and student engagements events.

- Understands student data to find trends and recommend evidence-based interventions to enhance retention and progression. Monitors and tracks student progress throughout the program, maintaining comprehensive records and reports. Prepares reports and presentations for internal stakeholders about retention rates, intervention outcomes, and areas of concern.

- Participates in curriculum and program reviews to ensure alignments with student success initiatives.

- Prepares individual success plans in coordination with faculty, academic advisors, and support staff.

- Collaborates with Pre-Nursing Advisor in student academic planning, NSRO events. Completes reviews of incoming nursing students' academic performance to identify at-risk students. Coordinates with nursing administrative assistant on annual application period.

- Provides faculty with professional development and resources related to student support, equity, and early intervention strategies.

- Serves as liaison between the nursing program and Student Services Department to coordinate student support.

- Supports nursing student organizations such as Alph Delta Nu, National Student Nurses' Association and nursing program committees such as Student Success and Retention & Recruitment as needed.
