Forsyth Barnes is partnering confidentially with a well-established US consumer brand that is looking to appoint a senior retail leader to help reshape and grow its national brick-and-mortar business.

This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for someone who can combine multi-site retail experience with strong commercial judgement, customer experience leadership and store growth strategy. The successful candidate will take ownership of the future direction of the store network, improving performance across the existing estate while building a scalable strategy for future expansion.

Define and execute the future strategy for the national store network
Develop a scalable store growth and expansion roadmap
Identify high-potential markets and locations for future store openings
Improve store sales, traffic, profitability and overall commercial performance
Redefine and enhance the in-store customer and sales experience
Strengthen local marketing, brand presence and customer engagement
Assess the existing store leadership structure and identify opportunities to improve capability
Lead and develop regional, district and store leadership teams
Establish clear KPIs and performance measures across sales, customer experience and profitability
Partner with senior leadership across Marketing, Digital, eCommerce and Operations
Balance transformation and growth initiatives with the ongoing operational requirements of the existing store network

Key Requirements – Senior Director, Stores:

Significant leadership experience within multi-site or national retail
Proven experience developing store expansion, market entry or location strategies
Strong track record of improving commercial performance across an existing store estate
Experience leading regional, district or multi-site retail teams
Strong understanding of customer experience, local-market activation and retail brand development
Ability to assess organisational structure, talent and capability and make effective changes
Commercially minded with strong strategic and analytical judgement
Comfortable operating with significant autonomy in an evolving environment
Experience with in consumer, specialty retail, food retail, hospitality or another customer-facing environment would be highly relevant
