Position

Summary

The general function of this job is to set up, changeover, improve, and maintain production equipment so that quality and quantity standards are met or exceeded. This role involves training/developing operators and providing on‑the‑floor leadership to ensure compliance with BD quality systems, policies, and procedures, as well as local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations. Regular, punctual attendance and proficiency in English are essential.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Responsible for doing changeovers and setting up equipment properly.
  • Maintain equipment in good repair to meet production and quality standards.
  • Generate accurate maintenance and other required records.
  • Ensure machine cleanliness and conduct preventive maintenance.
  • Provide coverage for absent operators.
  • Assist operators during break times and help run equipment.
  • Actively participate and lead teams in scheduling, process improvement, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Work safely, handle chemicals properly, and ensure the safety of coworkers.
  • Comply with additional requests from management.
  • May work in a clean room environment and follow all GMP rules.
  • Other duties as required to support business needs.
Education & Experience
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Associate’s Degree in a mechanical related field preferred.
  • Mechanical skills, education, or background required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Mechanical ability – Proficient.
  • Troubleshooting and problem solving – Proficient.
  • Hand tool and gauges knowledge – Proficient.
  • Independent thinking – Proficient.
  • Teamwork – Proficient.
  • Leadership skills – Proficient.
Other Requirements
  • PCP Level 4 may require respirators and annual fit testing.
  • May require annual HAZWOPER training and/or membership on the Chemical Emergency Response Team.
  • Minimum of 4 days of in‑office presence per week; remote or field‑based positions may have different arrangements.
  • Employment may be contingent upon proof of full COVID‑19 vaccination.
