Job Title: CNC Machinist

Location: Columbus, NE

Pay: $19.50/hour + DOE

Shift: 2nd Shift - 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM

Job Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

We are hiring a CNC Machinist to perform semi-skilled to skilled machining operations using CNC turning centers and machining centers. This role is ideal for someone with machining experience who takes pride in precision work and wants to grow their skills in a production environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC turning centers and/or machining centers
  • Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, sketches and tool sheets
  • Select proper feeds, speeds, tooling and clamping methods
  • Make machine adjustments and perform basic program edits and offsets
  • Follow tool paths within CNC programs
  • Inspect parts using micrometers, bore gages, calipers and other precision tools
  • Maintain tolerances according to drawing specifications
  • Work with a variety of materials
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organized work area
  • Assist in training less experienced machinists as needed
Qualifications & Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • CNC machining experience preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Basic math skills and problem-solving ability
  • Knowledge of G & M code programming is a plus
  • Manual machining experience is a plus
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Safety and quality focused with reliable attendance
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Ability to move larger parts (up to 2,000 pounds) with mechanical assistance
  • Ability to stand, bend and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift
Work Environment
  • Manufacturing/machining environment
  • Use of precision tools and CNC equipment
