Position Summary
Maintains control of inventories in the tool crib. Maintains computerized spare parts inventory system for replacement parts, tooling, operating supplies, and equipment. Verifies accuracy of received and shipped materials. Provides tool crib assistance to manufacturing teams engaged in continuous improvement projects. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures, and all applicable regulations.
Responsibilities- Use technical knowledge to assist tool crib customers with locating and stocking inventories.
- Ensure spare parts are available when needed to minimize manufacturing equipment downtime by enforcing SAP Work Order creation for all spare part transactions.
- Assist tool crib customers in SAP work order creation and train operations technicians on SAP processes.
- Complete projects and tasks minimizing stock outs and maximizing inventory accuracy.
- Conduct physical inventories to confirm manufacturing inventory stock is in designated locations in appropriate quantities.
- Assist in the organization and rearrangement of inventory stock to facilitate easy and accurate access.
- Support the administration of the Plant PM System.
- Interface with manufacturing teams on continuous improvement projects to determine and extend parts life cycle.
- Requisition materials to maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Interface with corporate buyers and vendors to solve issues and discrepancies.
- Conduct SAP transactions and inventory adjustments.
- Complete regular cycle counting.
- Work with engineers to create new parts requests.
- Expedite past due orders brought to attention by the Corporate Purchasing Group.
- Run reports in SAP, update dashboards, and report area performance to management.
- Work with production to coordinate or deliver needed parts to production areas to minimize downtime.
- Perform other duties as required to support the needs of the business.
- Education:
High School diploma or GED required;
Associate’s Degree in a technical or related field preferred. - Experience:
Two years of mechanical repair or troubleshooting experience required; four years preferred. Two years of inventory control experience preferred. - Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Inventory management knowledge – Proficient.
- MRP/ERP knowledge – Basic.
- Interpersonal skills – Proficient.
- Organizational skills – Proficient.
- Team-building skills – Proficient.
- Microsoft Word and Excel – Proficient.
- SAP knowledge – Proficient.
- PCP Level: 3.
Requires a minimum of 4 days of in-office presence per week. Remote or field-based positions have different arrangements as indicated in the posting. Employment may be contingent upon proof of full vaccination against COVID-19.
