Saw Operator - Weekend Day Shift

Location:

1600 East 29th Ave, Columbus, Nebraska 68601.

Schedule:

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 12‑hour shifts (36 hours per week, paid for 40).

• Operate a saw to cut shafts to specified lengths and angles according to blueprints.
• Use measuring equipment such as tape measures, micrometers, protractors, inclemeters, and squares to ensure proper dimensions.
• Install components on shafts, weld, and perform plasma cutting as required.
• Read blueprints and recognize geometric angles to guide operations.
• Apply shop mathematics to set up machinery and manufacture products per shop drawings and specifications.
• Transfer and issue material using IFS per production orders.
• Maintain a productive, safe, and efficient working environment.
• Operate a forklift safely.
• Keep accurate records, inventory, inspect finished product for quality, and maintain a high level of detail orientation.

• Minimum one month of experience operating a band saw or equivalent equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and production drawings.
• Solid mathematical skills in addition, subtraction, multiplication, division across unit measures.
• Proficiency with a grinder, swedger, punch, and stamping unit.
• Certification as a Valmont forklift operator.
• Effective communication and ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and meet production deadlines.

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• One year of prior experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
• Experience with IFS or a comparable ERP/MRP system.
• Ability to identify and communicate maintenance or product problems.
• Passion, integrity, and drive to excel.
