Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Planning Coordinator position in the Global NA Operations Division. The role dispatches and expedites orders through the manufacturing process from material ordering until completion in a safe and efficient manner, aiding the fabrication of Valmont products.
Responsibilities- Work in a cross‑functional reporting structure assisting scheduling, shipping, material handling, maintenance, manufacturing, and finishing while interfacing with admin departments, other sites, vendors, marketing, engineering, and purchasing.
- Effectively plan and organize the processing of orders while managing varied production situations.
- Issue shop packets and computer reports from the office area to the designated area in the manufacturing shop.
- Coordinate completion of the machine load report and provide feedback to scheduling regarding potential reschedules, overloads, and other anticipated problems.
- Coordinate and ensure the prompt resolution of lost or damaged material.
- Status and expedite shipping shortages while maintaining close communication with departmental supervisors, leads, and production control regarding loading availability and critical shipments.
- Maintain a safe and productive working environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Operations Planner.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- One year of experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- One year of experience with MRP systems such as IFS and Oracle Discoverer.
- Basic understanding of production control techniques and procedures.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow work instructions.
- Basic math skills (adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing).
- Read, write, and speak English effectively.
- High awareness for safety at all times.
- Positive communication and interaction with coworkers.
- Passion, integrity, drive to excel, and deliver exceptional results.
- Associate degree or higher in business or a related field.
- One year of experience in production scheduling or dispatching.
- Three years of experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Prior experience with IFS.
