RN Outpatient Surgery Department PRN

Schedule: PRN

Join our perioperative team as a Registered Nurse providing high-quality care for patients undergoing same day surgery. This position offers variable hours per week and requires a motivated professional who can manage an environment with rapid patient turnover. Your role will encompass direct patient care before, during, and after procedures, with a strong focus on patient teaching, monitoring, and safe discharge practices.

• Assess and prepare patients for procedures by conducting pre-op assessments, verifying consents, and ensuring appropriate pre-procedure instructions have been followed.
• Deliver intra-procedural nursing support in the procedure room, assisting the team and maintaining patient safety throughout the intervention.
• Monitor and evaluate vital signs, level of consciousness, pain, and overall physiologic status during recovery; intervene and escalat as needed.
• Provide comprehensive patient education tailored to the procedure and the individual’s needs, ensuring patients and families understand post-op care, warning signs, and follow-up plans.
• Coordinate timely and safe discharges, ensuring documentation is complete and discharge criteria are met.

• Active Nebraska RN license.
• Current ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications.
