Description of Work

The Office of Student Advocacy and Support seeks qualified applicants for the position of Case Manager. Under the general direction of the Assistant Director of Student Advocacy and Support, the Case Manager serves as the nexus of information and integration for the campus’ response to students experiencing varying degrees of need and/or distress. The incumbent is readily accessible to students, staff, faculty, parents, and family members (when applicable) who are concerned about a distressed student.

The Case Manager works closely with key offices to identify and intervene as early as possible with students potentially experiencing basic need insecurities, distress, or other challenges who would benefit from advocacy and support services.

The Case Manager assists in developing training for faculty and staff, as well as providing general information about Student Advocacy and Support during orientation and other key events. The incumbent works directly with students referred by their assigned liaison area to help resolve complex situations and advocate on their behalf, fielding calls, emails, and referrals, and coordinates responses and services for individual students.

Additionally, the incumbent researches national best practices and participates as a member of the university’s Behavioral Intervention Team. The Case Manager also supports the activities, programs, and services associated with the functions of the Student Advocacy and Support Office.
