Project Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Accountant to support our growing construction operations. This hybrid role will be responsible for project-level accounting, job cost tracking, financial reporting, and supporting project managers to ensure accurate financial performance across multiple projects. Key Responsibilities:

• Manage full-cycle project accounting for multiple active construction projects
• Track and analyze job costs, budgets, and forecasts to ensure financial accuracy
• Prepare monthly project cost reports, WIP schedules, and variance analyses
• Process subcontractor pay applications, lien waivers, and compliance documentation
• Support monthly close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals
• Collaborate with project managers to monitor budgets, change orders, and profitability
• Assist with project billings, AIA billing, and revenue recognition
• Maintain accurate project records in the accounting and project management systems
• Support audits and provide documentation as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3+ years of project or construction accounting experience preferred
• Strong understanding of job costing, WIP, and construction accounting principles
• Experience with construction ERP systems (e.g., Viewpoint, Sage, Procore, or similar) a plus
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
