Accounting Technician

This position serves as an Accounting Technician in the Accounting Section of Fiscal Service. This posit on performs a variety of duties related to the establishment and maintenance General Ledger Control Accounts and Subsidiary Records for Medical Care and Research Appropriations, General Fund Receipts,

Duties Include but are not limited to:

* Prepare monthly reconciliations and adjustments of the following reports: undelivered orders, accrued accounts payable, account receivable, general post funds, personal funds of patients, travel accounts and numerous other general ledger accounts.

* Perform work in direct support of an administrative area such as human resources, budget, procurement, purchasing, management analysis, or operating program analysis.

* Examine, verify, and maintain financial accounts and accounting data and classifies accounting transactions including the verification of the accuracy and completeness of the accounting data.

* Determine the general ledger accounts, journals, and subsidiary accounts affected, and the debit and credit entries to be made, Summarize transactions and prepare control documents or other posting documents reflecting the entries to be made.

* Technical responsibility for the maintenance, auditing, and reconciliation of the general and subsidiary ledger accounts, for the preparation of accurate and timely reports, and for the control of funds.

Work Schedule:

8:00am-4:30pm. Monday-Friday
