Kanawha Scales & Systems, LLC is seeking an AP/AR Specialist to support our National Accounts operations
, based in Columbus, OH
. The role is responsible for supporting the company’s daily financial operations, including processing vendor invoices, managing customer payments, and maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate is organized, efficient, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment.
- Review and process vendor invoices, expense reports, and payment requests.
- Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents.
- Prepare weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers.
- Maintain vendor files and ensure all documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Generate and distribute customer invoices.
- Process incoming payments (checks, ACH, credit card).
- Post payments accurately to customer accounts.
- Monitor overdue accounts and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Assist with monthly AR reporting and aging reviews.
- Assist with month‑end closing duties, including reconciliations.
- Maintain organized and accurate digital and physical financial files.
- Support audits by providing documentation when needed.
- Partner with internal teams to resolve billing or payment issues.
- High school diploma required;
Associate degree in Accounting or Business preferred. - 1‑3 years of experience in AP, AR, or general accounting.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
