Overview:
The Accounting Intern will be responsible for supporting the Accounting Department in a variety of ways for Surge Staffing. They will have the opportunity to gain first-hand experience in all areas of accounting and learn how they all play a big role in a growing organization. This includes but does not limit to working closely with our departments in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Billing, and Collections.
This is a full-time (Monday - Friday) On-Site position that is for the Surge Staffing HQ office located in Columbus, Ohio.
Responsibilities:
Partner with the mentors in each accounting-related department and give support in their specific duties.
· Assisting with research, filing, data entry, and recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records.
· Preparing financial reports, such as balance sheets and income statements, invoices, and other documents.
· Handling sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity.
· Learning how to work as part of the Accounting team to compile and analyze data, track information, and support the company or clients.
· Taking on additional tasks or projects to learn more about accounting and office operations.
Qualifications:
At least a Junior pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or related field
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Ability to work both independently and as a team
· Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
