Description
Join our dynamic team as a Property Accounting Manager! We're looking for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in real estate accounting to oversee all accounting functions related to our properties. In this critical role, you will collaborate closely with various departments to ensure compliance with accounting standards and deliver accurate financial reports.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and oversee the accounting operations for all real estate properties, including quarterly and annual account reconciliations.
- Lead and mentor a team of property accountants, ensuring deadlines are met and providing guidance on complex accounting issues.
- Prepare and review journal entries and general ledger adjustments to maintain accurate financial records.
- Review manual adjustments to tenant accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Supervise the recovery billing process, which includes common area maintenance (CAM) charges, utilities, and other recoverable costs per lease agreements.
- Collaborate with property management, finance, and leasing teams to streamline financial operations.
- Identify and implement process improvements in property accounting to enhance efficiency.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years in property or real estate accounting; 2+ years managing or leading a team.
- Skills & Knowledge: Strong grasp of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards; in-depth understanding of real estate accounting, lease administration, and property management; proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, Real Page); exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail; strong communication skills to engage effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
