2027 BHM Tax Department Internship
BHM CPA Group currently has an opening for a full‑time intern within our Tax and Accounting department. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail‑oriented individual to join our expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity for those pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting. As an intern, you will work alongside experienced CPAs and gain hands‑on experience in a variety of accounting disciplines.
We also offer a part‑time internship to accommodate your class schedule.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, and partnerships, including data entry, client inquiry, research to determine appropriate tax treatment, analytical review, overall assessment of results, and communication with reviewers regarding return status.
- Prepare year‑end forms such as 1099, W‑2/W‑3, personal property tax, and sales tax returns.
- Utilize Quick Books to enter checks and deposits, prepare bank and credit card reconciliations, make journal entries, invoice, receive payments, track accounts receivable and payable, and record post‑factum payrolls.
- Scan documents and perform other general office tasks.
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (recent graduates encouraged to apply).
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Experience with accounting software (Quick Books, Sage, or similar) is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of integrity and professionalism in handling confidential information.
