Accounting Manager

We are looking for an Accounting Manager to work for our client. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.

Our client is seeking an experienced, hands‑on Accounting Manager to lead day‑to‑day accounting operations, oversee month‑end close, and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting. This on‑site leadership role in downtown Columbus is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, brings strong technical accounting experience, and can partner across the business. A CPA is preferred and adds strong value to success in this position.

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including AP, AR, GL, and payroll coordination
• Lead and manage month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closing processes
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements
• Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis in partnership with FP&A
• Coordinate external audits and prepare required documentation
• Develop and improve accounting policies, procedures, and workflow efficiencies
• Supervise, coach, and mentor accounting staff

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA preferred (active or in progress)
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; previous leadership or supervisory experience required
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems; ability to streamline processes
• Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
