Position: 2027 Audit Department Intern

We currently have an opening for a full‑time intern within our audit department. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail‑oriented individual to join our expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity for those pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting!

bhm also offers the opportunity for a part‑time internship. We are flexible to accommodate your class schedule.

The goal of this internship is to provide the individual with an opportunity to gain experience across various industries and develop a comprehensive understanding of the audit process. Our audit clients include agricultural cooperatives, electric cooperatives, governmental entities, not‑for‑profit organizations, employee benefit plans, construction companies, and many other industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Working in team environments
  • Interaction with coworkers and audit clients
  • Assisting in the preparation of financial reports
  • Using good time management to complete different projects
  • Managing multiple clients simultaneously
  • Travel for overnight stays estimated at approximately 50%, plus additional travel to and from clients during weekdays
  • Supervision by senior staff, managers, or partners, with review notes and feedback to support your internship experience
Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (recent graduates encouraged to apply)
  • Skilled at balancing several projects while maintaining attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High level of integrity and professionalism in handling confidential information
