Financial Reporting, Accounting Manager
Our client is a well-established real estate and development organization seeking a Project Accountant to join its collaborative accounting team. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of financial reporting for a portfolio of commercial real estate entities while partnering with professionals across accounting, development, construction, and property management.

Responsibilities- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reporting packages for a portfolio of real estate entities.
- Review and analyze general ledger activity, including reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and account adjustments.
- Perform variance analysis and provide explanations for significant fluctuations.
- Prepare and distribute investor and ownership reporting packages.
- Assist with construction draw requests and loan draw packages for lenders and equity partners.
- Partner closely with development, construction, and property management teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, annual audits, and special projects.
- Manage accounting responsibilities for a portfolio of approximately 25-30 properties.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- 2-4 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Experience preparing complete financial statements and reporting packages.
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and financial analysis.
- Experience owning financial reporting responsibilities rather than simply supporting the close process.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and explain financial trends and variances.
- Real estate, property management, development, or construction accounting experience.
- Experience with construction draws or loan draw packages.
- Experience with MRI, Yardi, or similar property management/accounting software.
- Public accounting experience with real estate clients will also be considered.
- 100% onsite in Columbus, Ohio.
