Sr. Accountant

A VACO client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support the financial operations of their growing construction business. This role will play a critical part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing project accounting, supporting month‑end close activities, and helping drive financial performance across multiple construction projects.

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage the month‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Maintain general ledger accounts and perform account reconciliations.
• Oversee construction job costing and project accounting activities.
• Review project budgets, costs, and revenue recognition for accuracy.
• Monitor work‑in‑progress (WIP) schedules and support financial forecasting.
• Assist with cash flow management and financial planning.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Support external audits, tax preparation, and regulatory reporting.
• Partner with project managers and operational leaders to provide financial insights and recommendations.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accounting efficiency and controls.
