Job Summary:
This position is responsible for managing and monitoring customer accounts to ensure timely payments and accurate record-keeping. Provides daily support by answering phone calls and emails from customers and cross-functional departments and follows-up on past-due balances. Resolves billing issues or payment discrepancies and escalates to management when necessary.
Demonstrates basic skills and some advanced skills, such as time management, organization, communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail, to perform tasks under direct or general supervision. Possesses technical proficiency and basic working knowledge to handle day-to-day credit tasks and procedures. Working knowledge of confidentiality practices and procedures and uses discretion when handling sensitive account information and communication. Established ability to communicate effectively with associates and customers.
Able to prioritize and be flexible with a variety of assigned tasks. Open to working as part of a team and with other departments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor customer accounts and payment statuses; follow-up on billing issues or payment discrepancies and elevate to management as needed
- Process payments and verify posting details
- Provide daily support by answering phone calls and emails
- Pull D&B (Dunn & Bradstreet) to analyze credit worthiness for small credit lines
- Enter customer information and expense details
- Reconcile monthly statements and related transactions
- Maintain historical records by scanning and filing documents
- Perform other tasks to support credit and collections as needed
Minimum Experience and
Education:
- High School or GED
- 1 - 2 years related experience and/or training
Position Requirements:
- Proficient computer skills; ability to use MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Technical ability to learn and use a variety of software programs, such as Syte Line
- Communicates well with others; speaks and writes clearly; asks for and offers help when needed
- Interpersonal; resolves questions and concerns in a professional manner; maintains confidentiality
- Detail oriented; meets quality standards and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness
- Organized; completes work in a timely manner; able to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Problem-solver; gathers and analyzes information skillfully and generates suggestions for improving work

- Observes and follows safety procedures
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- Office Environment – quiet noise level but may be moderate at times; work may sometimes take place in non-standard workplaces (i.e., manufacturing environment).
- Manufacturing environment may cause exposure to heat, noise, vibration, odors, or dust.
- Sedentary Work – exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
- Required to sit, stand, walk, see close and at distance, and talk and hear.
