This position is responsible for completing general accounting duties and assisting with financial analysis and reporting. Accountants maintain and reconcile financial accounts or records by balancing sheets, filing tax statements, creating journal entries, and maintaining general ledger information. Accountants perform month-end closing procedures, as well as maintain fixed assets. Accountants work primarily within finance but may also work with other departments.
Accountants may perform other tasks as needed.
- Prepare monthly/annual financial statements and records
- Reconcile general ledger; ensure payments and deposits are recorded appropriately
- Complete end of month financial closings and quarterly consolidations
- Complete financial research and analysis
- Assist with audits and tax filings
- Perform routine account reconciliations
- Perform other tasks to support accounting as needed
- 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree
- 1-2 years related experience and/or training
- Proficient computer skills; ability to use MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Technical ability to learn and use a variety of software programs, such as Syte Line
- Proficient mathematical and statistical skills; ability to prepare financial reports and interpret data
- Knowledge of financial/cost accounting processes and principles
- Analytical; collects and researches data; uses intuition and experience to complement data
- Communicates well with others; speaks and writes clearly; asks for and offers help when needed
- Interpersonal; resolves questions and concerns in a professional manner; maintains confidentiality
- Detail oriented; meets quality standards and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness

- Office Environment - quiet noise level but may be moderate at times; work may sometimes take place in non-standard workplaces (i.e., manufacturing environment).
- Manufacturing environment may cause exposure to heat, noise, vibration, odors, or dust.
- Sedentary Work - exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
