Summary
The Director of Corporate Accounting is responsible for overseeing the company’s corporate accounting, tax coordination, consolidated financial reporting, treasury coordination, internal controls, corporate audit activities, and enterprise-levelfinancialcompliancefunctions.
Thisrolepartnerscloselywiththe Director of Property Accounting to ensure consistency, accuracy, and operational efficiency across the organization’s accounting and financial reporting processes. This role will also directly manage the Corporate Accountant. The Director of Corporate Accounting will focus primarily on corporate financial management, accounting policies, treasury activities, audit/review/compilation coordination, insurance administration, retirement plan compliance, and organizational accounting processes, while supporting operational and property accounting initiatives as needed.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting expertise, supervisory skills, and experience managing complex multi-entity accounting environments within commercial real estate, development, property management, construction or related industries.

- Ensurefinancialreportingispreparedinaccordancewithgenerallyacceptedaccounting principles.
- Overseeintercompanyaccounting,eliminations,andconsolidatedreportingacrossall entities.

- Assistinoverseeingtreasuryoperations,liquidity management,andcashflow planning.
- Reviewandapprovetreasurytransactions,funding requests,andwire activity.
- Coordinateannualfinancialaudits, reviews or compilationsandserveasprimaryliaisonwithexternal auditors.
- Coordinatewithexternaltaxadvisorsregardingfederalandstatetaxfilings,partnership reporting, and entity compliance matters.
- Overseeadministrationandcoordinationofcorporateinsurancepolicies,including renewals, claims coordination, policy tracking, and broker relationships.
- Assistwithorganizationalriskmanagementinitiativesandinsurancecompliance requirements.
- Oversee administration and compliance activities related to the company’s 401(k) plan, includingcoordinationwiththird-party administrators,annual testing,reporting requirements, and audit support as applicable.
- Supportcompliancewithapplicableretirementplanregulationsandinternalgovernance procedures.
- Partnercollaborativelywiththe Director of Property Accountingtosupportoverallaccounting department operations and organizational objectives.
- Providetechnicalaccountingexpertiseandsupportacrosstheaccountingandfinance functions.
- Collaborateonprocessimprovements,reporting consistency,workload balancing,and accounting best practices.
- Assistwithpropertyaccountingandthird-partyaccountinginitiativesas needed.
- Supportimplementationandmaintenanceofscalableaccountingproceduresandinternal controls across the organization.
- Workcloselywithexecutiveleadershipandoperationalteamstoensurealignmentbetween accounting processes and business objectives.

Experience
- Bachelor’sdegreein
Accounting,Finance,orrelatedfield required. - CPAcertificationstrongly preferred.
Minimum5-10yearsofprogressiveaccountingexperience,preferablywithincommercial real estate, development, property management, or related industries.
- StrongknowledgeofGAAP,multi-entity accounting,financial reporting,internal controls, and real estate accounting practices.
- ExperiencewithMRI,Yardi, Quickbooks orsimilaraccounting/ERPsystems preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Excelandfinancialreporting skills.
- Highdegreeofprofessionalism,accountability,andattentionto detail.
- Thispositionisbasedin Columbus, Ohio.
- Minimaltravelmayoccasionallybe required.
