Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to support day-to-day invoice and payment activities for a company based in Columbus, Ohio. This long-term contract position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, accurate with financial data, and comfortable managing high-volume payable tasks in a fast-paced accounting environment. The role will also contribute to month-end activities and provide broader accounting support as business needs arise.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the full accounts payable cycle, from receiving invoices through final payment processing.
• Enter invoice details into the accounting system with a high degree of accuracy and proper documentation.
• Review and assign general ledger codes to invoices to ensure correct expense allocation.
• Prepare and process vendor payments through ACH transactions and scheduled check runs.
• Reconcile payable records and resolve discrepancies by working with internal teams and vendors.
• Assist with month-end close by organizing payable data, supporting accruals, and maintaining accurate records.
• Provide additional accounting assistance on special tasks and operational needs as requested by the finance team.
