Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to support day-to-day invoice and payment activities for a company based in Columbus, Ohio. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, accurate with financial data, and comfortable managing high-volume payable tasks in a fast-paced accounting environment. The role will also contribute to month-end activities and provide broader accounting support as business needs arise.

Responsibilities:

- Manage the full accounts payable cycle, from receiving invoices through final payment processing.

- Enter invoice details into the accounting system with a high degree of accuracy and proper documentation.

- Review and assign general ledger codes to invoices to ensure correct expense allocation.

- Prepare and process vendor payments through ACH transactions and scheduled check runs.

- Reconcile payable records and resolve discrepancies by working with internal teams and vendors.

- Assist with month-end close by organizing payable data, supporting accruals, and maintaining accurate records.

- Provide additional accounting assistance on special tasks and operational needs as requested by the finance team. Requirements - Hands-on experience performing full-cycle accounts payable responsibilities.

- Strong data entry skills with consistent attention to detail and accuracy.

- Working knowledge of invoice coding and account coding practices.

- Experience processing electronic payments, including ACH, and coordinating check runs.

- Ability to support month-end close activities within an accounting department.

- Comfortable managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a high-volume environment.
