Collections Management Assistant 1## Department:

Arts and Sciences | Molecular Genetics Administration Participates in acquisition and curation of the seed collection, including communication with donors, arranging shipping and receipt of donations, data acquisition and curation, and preparation of seeds for distribution and storage. Assists in preparation of user orders, pulling/returning stocks to cold room, aliquoting seeds and other stocks, and packaging orders. Maintains cell cultures including preparation of culture media, maintaining sterile conditions and preparation of cultures for distribution and storage.

Supports the growth of new plant material received as part of the collection, including planting, maintenance, harvesting, and preparing stocks for storage. Assists with laboratory safety in DNA lab. Assists with outreach activities including staffing booths at community events, planning and preparing supplies for activities. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Word required. Will be working in a greenhouse which can be warm and dusty e work requires you spend a short period of time in a cold room that is between 40-45 degrees Fahrenheit.
** Minimum Requirements
** High School diploma or GED. 0 years of relevant experience required. 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
** Desired Qualifications
** One year of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Word, and relational databases is desired.## Additional Information:
