Overview
The student position is with the Robotic and Minimally Invasive Surgery Program at The James and The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. The student will assist administrative staff with daily clerical tasks, education and training lab setup, and active research projects. Responsibilities include data entry, spreadsheet organization, mail handling, copying, errands, digitizing filing, assisting with onsite observers in the operating room, computer data entry, special projects, and attending department meetings and events.
Responsibilities- Assist with daily clerical tasks (e.g., mail, copying, errands, digitizing filing).
- Setup and maintain education and training laboratories for robotic and minimally invasive surgery.
- Input and manage data within spreadsheets and databases.
- Support special research projects, clinical trials, and database management.
- Assist onsite observers during operating room sessions.
- Attend department meetings and events.
- Proficient with Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to physically move surgical equipment for lab training.
- General knowledge of a healthcare setting.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 0–2 years of relevant experience preferred.
The role may require occasional weekend work and travel to different medical center facilities.
Participation in regular administrative meetings is expected.
