Job Summary Responsible for performance of varied administrative duties and designated administrative functions. Maintain a close and highly responsive relationship with the day-to-day work activities within assigned function. Work independently under minimum supervision and guidance in carrying out assigned responsibilities. Ensure that strict confidentiality is consistently maintained in order that all records, documents and related information pertaining to high level executive plans and decisions affecting Company operations are not compromised.

Relieve executive of designated administrative details, exercise judgment and make decisions within the scope of authority.

Job Description What You'll Do:

Handle highly confidential information with integrity and discretion.

Exercise problem solving techniques and face challenges and change with a positive disposition and successful results.

Ensure that sufficient action is always taken to ensure the executive office is supported appropriately.

Compile and prepare correspondence and reports from general instructions and, using independent judgment, follow through on assigned projects.

Inspect all papers, company documents, and calculations to ensure the accuracy and /or consistency of information flowing through the executive office. Establish and maintain document retrieval systems.

Position must be carried out in a way that understands the priorities and business needs of the executive  open-minded and flexible to changing priorities.

Represent the executive's office both verbally and in written communications in such a way as to positively manage all internal and external interfaces.

Relay messages and instructions to subordinates as requested and provide follow up on pending matters, such as requests for information or proposals for action.

Answer inquiries, screen telephone calls, visitors and incoming mail, direct technical inquires to the proper persons and personally respond to questions and furnish information as required.

Manage CEO's calendar including scheduling meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements.

Potential for working overtime and weekends as business needs dictate.

Assist with expense tracking related to the CEO’s office.

Keep informed and up to date on Company policies and practices.

Work independently under minimum supervision and guidance in carrying out assigned responsibilities.
** This position is on-site Monday through Friday at AEP Headquarters in downtown Columbus, OH.

What We're Looking For:

Education requirements are listed below:

High school graduate or GED.Some college and/or office administrator training desirable.

Work Experience requirement listed below:

Seven (7) years or more of diversified thorough experience gained from work in various areas within the organization or similar administrative experience.

Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Workday.

Other Requirements:

Strong attention to detail.

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

High level of energy and organization skills.

Due to high level responsibilities of this position, overtime hours are often required.

Meet and greet stakeholders in various settings.
