The Legal Services Assistant position provides direct administrative support to assigned timekeepers and plays a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day management of attorney workflows. Assistants work in practice‑specific support teams, share responsibility for overflow tasks and coverage, and provide high‑quality support across all assigned timekeepers. The role requires managing multiple projects and priorities, delegating appropriate tasks to other support teams, and ensuring timely follow‑up and quality control.
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, professionalism, discretion, organizational and technical skills, and a collaborative approach are essential.
Salary in the range of $60,000 - $75,000 dependent on experience level
EssentialJob Duties
- Document Skills
- Prepare, format, revise, proofread, and finalize a variety of legal documents, ensuring proper grammar, punctuation, and adherence to firm and practice group‑specific standards.
- Ensure all documents meet firm branding, formatting, and functionality guidelines.
- Demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of document preparation and management.
- Prepare and edit documents in Microsoft Word that are stable and implement use of advanced formatting tools such as Styles, Table of Contents, and Table of Authorities.
- Leverage firm‑adopted technology and systems to manage and format legal documents with precision.
- Learn and troubleshoot document issues efficiently, demonstrating growing technical confidence.
- Execute complex document markups and formatting instructions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ability to create basic to intermediate‑level spreadsheets and print all spreadsheets in Excel.
- Ability to create basic to intermediate‑level PowerPoint presentations.
- Administrative and Operational Support
- Adapt to differing substantive and individual attorney styles across various practice areas.
- Anticipate timekeeper needs and proactively provide administrative and project support.
- Demonstrate initiative in resolving workflow challenges and contribute to the overall efficiency of the team.
- Maintain high standards of organization, follow‑through, and attention to detail in day‑to‑day support tasks.

- High school diploma required
- At least three (3) years of previous administrative experience in the legal industry required
