Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support a busy property management team in Columbus, Ohio. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing accounting work with administrative and leasing support in a part-time setting. The role will contribute to daily financial tasks, document management, and lease-related coordination while helping the office stay organized and responsive.

Responsibilities:

- Process payable information and assist with accurate entry of vendor invoices and related transactions.

- Record incoming payments, maintain receipt documentation, and support day-to-day cash activity tracking.

- Scan, organize, and file financial and lease documents to ensure records are complete and easy to retrieve.

- Prepare routine reports and assist with data review using property management software and spreadsheets.

- Provide backup support for lease administration by helping assemble lease packages and related paperwork.

- Review lease documents for formatting, completeness, and accuracy before final distribution.

- Assist with accounting tasks in Microsoft Excel, including maintaining schedules and reconciling supporting information.

- Support administrative office functions as needed to help leasing and accounting operations run smoothly. Requirements - At least 2 years of experience in an accounting assistant, bookkeeping, or similar support role.

- Working knowledge of accounts payable processing, cash receipts, and general financial recordkeeping.

- Experience performing reconciliations and handling receipt-related documentation, including credit card transactions.

- Ability to manage scanning, filing, and document organization with strong attention to detail.

- Familiarity with lease administration or lease accounting support in a property management or real estate environment is preferred.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for basic accounting tasks, tracking, and reporting.

- Strong proofreading and administrative skills with the ability to work accurately across multiple responsibilities.
