- Adjudicate system to monitor claims work list and manage caseload of Percentage of Permanent Partial applications
- Determine whether the waiting period has lapsed from the date of injury in Medical Only claims or from the last compensation date in lost time claims
- Process C92/C92A applications (e.g., mail applications received to employers and/or representatives, review applications, and verify timely filing in the Workers’ Compensation Claims Management System)
- Request medical documentation and wage information from MCOs, SI employers, IWs, and employers as appropriate
- Generate tentative orders in the Claims Management System for all state fund and SI claims, entering required data such as percentage of permanent partial and additional conditions
- Minimum of 2 courses or 6 months of experience in English composition or grammar, and 2 courses or 6 months of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or general math
- 2 courses or 6 months of experience in communication or public speaking, or 6 months in a role involving public inquiries or complaints, or contact with injured workers, employers, legislators, providers, or their representatives
- Successful completion of one typing course or ability to type at least 35 words per minute
- Claims Examination skill
- Knowledge of BWC & IC policies and standard operating procedures, ORC rules and regulations, applicable state and federal regulations governing processed documents, public relations, BWC claims documents and forms, SI, IC, CCT, and BWC terminology
- Proficiency in operating a PC to log and enter data, using claims adjudicating systems, and general office equipment (telephone, copier/fax)
- Ability to solve practical problems, gather and classify information, and handle routine inquiries and contacts with injured workers, employers, and legislators
- Travel required; must be able to provide own transportation or legally operate a state-owned vehicle
