The Student Relations Technician creates and maintains files related to the management of student records, data input, reconciliation, correspondence, and public contact. This position communicates with students and/or parents on matters of student information, progress, or concerns, and performs a variety of complex and specialized activities related to student records and all compliance issues pertaining to Full Time Equivalent (FTE) pupil attendance and state educational mandates.
The role reports to the Principal or designee.
- Schedule orientation for incoming students
- Comply with expulsion, English Language Learner, and Special Education program, re‑enrollment, and reinstatement protocols
- Ensure all required student enrollment paperwork is complete and correct
- Accurately input student information into the Student Information database, including immunizations, enrollment dates, school track, and supervising teacher
- Properly issue and track student work permits
- Provide quality customer service
- Answer all incoming telephone calls and handle them appropriately
- File documents in student folders
- Track and record FTE pupil attendance and work samples for accuracy
- Audit student work samples and all documents required for mandatory compliance (Master Agreement, WSR, Daily Learning Log, Synopsis, Report Cards, etc.)
- Check report cards for completeness and accuracy before submitting to the registrar
- Conduct orientations for new students
- Assist teachers with problem‑solving issues related to student records compliance
- Create and maintain compliance and FTE pupil attendance checklists
- Verify and confirm FTE pupil attendance in the Student Information database with form and tracking number
- Submit compliance error reports to management
- Adhere to attendance policies
- Perform administrative duties and activities as assigned, which may be changed or modified from time to time
- Excellent customer service skills, including greeting customers in a friendly manner and providing timely, accurate follow‑up
- Multi‑tasking abilities, including reacting and responding to changing circumstances and procedures
- Respond to requests and inquiries from students, visitors, employees, and supervisors
- Able to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple requests or interruptions while completing assignments in a timely manner
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction
- Ability to meet schedules and timelines
- Proficiency in preparing general and special reports
- Detail‑oriented with a systematic approach to assigned tasks
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma
- Minimum 2 years of related office duties
- Good record‑keeping techniques
- Planning and organizational skills
- Basic computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to travel in performance of job duties required
- Vision:
Ability to read small print and view a computer screen for prolonged periods, preparing or inspecting documents and operating office equipment - Hearing:

Ability to use fingers for small movements such as typing or picking up small objects; manipulate small objects; twist and bend at wrist and elbow; extend arms to reach outward and upward; lift objects; turn, raise, and lower head - Strength:
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 10 pounds - Environmental Requirements:
Ability to encounter constant work interruptions; work cooperatively with others; work independently; work indoors; prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer; work in a moderate to high noise environment with frequent deadline pressures
