We use a resource-based solutions model to deliver Subject Matter Experts who fill capacity and knowledge gaps and complete critical projects on time. This model works because, our consultants have sat in our clients' seats and understand the unique and pressing challenges they face.
What You’ll DoYou, as a Business Development Manager, should bring experience with Business to Business sales and an appetite for growth. You will be responsible for contributing to the ongoing advancement of our business in the Columbus marketplace selling to and partnering with client across many sizes and industries. The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving new client acquisition, expanding existing relationships, and partnering closely with recruiting teams to deliver tailored staffing solutions.
This is an individual contributor sales role, not a people-management position.
Responsibilities- Develop and execute business development strategies to acquire new clients and grow existing accounts
- Build and maintain strong relationships with hiring managers and decision-makers
- Conduct client meetings to understand workforce needs and hiring challenges
- Partner closely with recruiters to ensure successful talent delivery
- Maintain an active presence in professional networks and referral channels
- Participate in sales training, team meetings, and company all-hands
- Travel occasionally to Cincinnati and/or Columbus
- Uphold Vernovis’ company fundamentals and social covenant
- 2+ years of B2B sales experience within professional services, staffing, consulting, or a related industry.
- Strong consultative selling skills, ability to diagnose client needs and offer tailored solutions.
- A true hunter mindset for developing net-new business, paired with a farmer approach to grow existing accounts.
- Excellent relationship-building abilities with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.
- You’re a natural connector who genuinely enjoys networking, building relationships, and being active in the local business community.
