Overview
Job Summary: As a Lead Architect on the Corporate Oversight and Governance Technology (COGT) team, you will partner with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to translate strategic goals into actionable architectural plans. You will advise on business architecture solutions, propose improvements to business capabilities and processes, and ensure seamless integration with enterprise architecture domains. This role creates high-level design artifacts, establishes architectural standards, and serves as a subject matter expert across the organization.
The ideal candidate has formal training in business architecture, strong analytical and communication skills, and experience in financial services with a focus on compliance, controls, or operational risk.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior leadership to understand strategic goals and translate them into architectural plans.
- Advise cross-functional teams on business architecture solutions to achieve target state architecture and decisions on improvements to current business solutions.
- Propose innovative solutions and improvements to existing business architecture—business capabilities, services, and processes—to maintain a competitive edge.
- Ensure the business architecture integrates with other enterprise architecture domains (applications, data, infrastructure, and security).
- Create high-level design artifacts, including value streams, business capability models, process models, and data flows.
- Ensure proposed solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with the organization s architectural standards.
- Collaborate across business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure clear communication and understanding of requirements.
- Establish and enforce architectural standards, guidelines, and best practices across COGT, and serve as the organization s go-to subject matter expert.
- Champion the firm’s culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
- Formal training or certification in business architecture concepts (e.g., Business Architecture Guild, Biz Bok, TOGAF, Archi Mate).
- Applied experience in business architecture within a complex environment.
- Strategic thinker with passion for business strategy and processes.
- Experience in financial services, ideally with exposure to Compliance, Controls Management, Regulatory Engagement, or Operational Risk functions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to present to Senior Leaders and Executives.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory initiatives.
- Proactive and self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience applying expertise to determine solutions for complex architecture problems across one or more technical disciplines.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities And Skills
- Experience and knowledge in one or more software, applications, and architecture.
- Experience in software architecture, application development, and technical processes with deep knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, AI/ML, mobile).
- Experience leading a product as a Product Owner or Product Manager.
- Interest in innovative technologies and how they can be applied, e.g. Generative AI and Agentic AI.
