The Benefits Analyst is responsible for transforming benefits and leave of absence data into insights that inform decision‑making, cost management, and program strategy. This role plays a key part in helping leadership understand trends, risks, and opportunities across benefits and leave programs.

The ideal candidate is highly analytical, comfortable working with complex data, and motivated by using insights to influence outcomes.

While this role supports benefits and leave operations, its primary focus is data analysis, reporting, and partnership with internal and external stakeholders to drive informed decisions.

Tasks And Responsibilities
  • DATA ANALYSIS & INSIGHTS
    • Analyze benefits and leave data to identify trends, cost drivers, risks, and opportunities.
    • Develop recurring and ad hoc reports and dashboards that translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for leadership.
    • Assist in developing data‑driven narratives that support recommendations for innovative programs, vendor partnerships, or plan design changes.
    • Conduct ROI analysis, utilization reviews, benchmarking, and cohort analysis to assess program effectiveness.
    • Synthesize data from vendors, HR systems, and financial sources to explain key drivers and emerging patterns.
  • REPORTING, RECONCILIATION & FINANCIAL OVERSIGHT
    • Review vendor reports, invoices, and eligibility data to identify discrepancies and trends.
    • Support reconciliations, audits, and data validation efforts to ensure accuracy and integrity.
    • Prepare audit‑ready reports and data summaries in partnership with Finance, HRIS, and vendors.
    • Assist in preparing leadership‑and governance‑ready materials related to financial and utilization results.
  • VENDOR & PARTNER COLLABORATION
    • Partner with benefits and leave vendors to define reporting requirements, performance metrics, and data standards.
    • Evaluate vendor performance through utilization and outcome data.
    • Collaborate on custom reporting and targeted analyses to support program optimization and decision‑making.
    • Support evaluation of vendor ROI methodologies and assumptions.
    • Respond to routine benefits and leave inquiries, escalating complex issues appropriately.
  • PROCESS IMPROVEMENT & PROJECT SUPPORT
    • Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, data quality, and analytical processes.
    • Support special projects, pilots, and new initiatives by providing analytical and operational insights.
