Description:

Position Purpose

The Institutional Research Analyst/Data Coordinator is responsible for data queries utilizing SQL, data cleaning to ensure data integrity, database maintenance (Jenzabar One), and developing and maintaining Tableau dashboards for reporting insights. The Data Coordinator assists with reporting for internal and external constituents, including but not limited to agencies of the U.S. Department of Education and accrediting bodies. Supports effective database utilization and continuous quality improvement in interdepartmental database utilization across the college.

The Data Coordinator reports to the Director of Institutional Effectiveness.

Responsibilities
  • Designs complex data queries based on identified inquiries/needs. Extracts, validates, and analyzes desired data using software (e.g., student information systems, Tableau, Microsoft 365).
  • Defines the scope and format of reports and prepares them.
  • Collaborates on the design, implementation, and evaluation of data analysis processes, including determining the metrics and methodologies to be used.
  • Prepares and delivers analysis in requested formats to internal and external audiences.
  • Coordinates and administers institutional surveys.
  • Facilitates data reporting required by regulatory and accrediting agencies in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develops and maintains process documentation; maintains statistical data on volume and productivity; assists in evaluating processes and recommending modifications to ensure the highest level of service, workflow, and accuracy of records.
  • Maintains security of student academic records; complies with college policies and procedures; adheres to federal privacy law (FERPA) regulations and accreditation standards.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required, or 3-5 years of equivalent experience required.
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Well-developed skills in providing database coordination services.
  • Ability to work collaboratively or independently, demonstrate initiative, and prioritize and manage own workload with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of FERPA legislation.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in office automation software, database utilization, SQL, and data queries.
  • Experience with Jenzabar One Student Information System and Tableau is a plus.
  • This could be a remote opportunity for experienced candidates.
