Our Finance Team is Growing!

Are you a detail-driven finance professional who enjoys both hands‑on leadership and big‑picture strategy? Do you thrive at the intersection of compliance, systems, and business decision‑making? We’re looking for an experienced Controller to oversee our financial operations and serve as a trusted partner to ownership and executive leadership.

This is a key leadership role with broad visibility across the organization—perfect for someone who enjoys building scalable systems, managing risk, and influencing business outcomes.

What You’ll DoTax & Regulatory Compliance
  • Manage sales tax compliance through Clarus, including filings, nexus monitoring, registrations, and audits
  • Maintain sales tax exemption documentation and provide certificates to vendors
  • Prepare and file Ohio Use Tax and quarterly Commercial Activity Tax (CAT) returns
  • Oversee federal, state, and local tax compliance and coordinate annual returns with external tax advisors
  • Prepare and distribute annual 1099s and maintain W-9 records
  • Review and approve quarterly payroll tax filings and payroll closes
  • Coordinate 401(k) compliance testing, Form 5500 filings, and census reporting
  • Partner with HR on annual employee benefits evaluation and renewals
  • Manage the company’s property and casualty insurance program, including renewals and audits
  • Oversee subcontractor labor audits, bond procurement, and carrier audit responses
  • Ensure compliance with general contractor requirements such as COIs, SOVs, labor documentation, and job registrations
  • Prepare and file required state labor reports during active job phases
  • Serve as the primary administrator for the Core ERP system
  • Manage system configuration, reporting, access controls, automation, and user support
  • Implement new features, resolve system issues, and authorize positive pay transactions
Financial Operations & Reporting
  • Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies within the ERP system
  • Support vendor performance reporting and sales analytics
  • Prepare and submit quarterly Share of Accounts reports
  • File annual state business registration reports
  • Manage collection agency relationships and escalation decisions
  • Maintain banking relationships, including borrowing base reporting and line‑of‑credit renewals
  • Submit financial statements to lenders and evaluate alternative financing options
  • Represent ownership in executive, client, and escalation meetings
  • Support negotiation and renewal of customer Master Service Agreements (MSAs)
  • Negotiate contract terms with general contractors
Leadership & External Representation
  • Represent the company at industry and community events
  • Participate in client entertainment and relationship‑building activities
  • Manage WBENC and City of Columbus certification renewals and distribution
