Job Overview
Creative problem solvers with strong entrepreneurial instincts will identify new growth opportunities for Huntington. The Venture Strategist is a key member of the Innovation Team, responsible for identifying and framing growth opportunities, collaborating with customer researchers and cross‑functional partners to uncover emerging trends, assess market dynamics, and recommend new ventures aligned with Huntington’s strategic priorities.
Duties & Responsibilities- Research and evaluate external information and intelligence, including innovation trends, technology companies, strategic partners, fintech, and new business models.
- Identify key market trends, regulatory changes, and emerging consumer preferences.
- Conduct market assessments, evaluate competitive positioning, market share, and growth opportunities to sharpen assumptions, inform value propositions, and translate early insights into new venture concepts.
- Support the development of business cases, including financial models and market sizing, and assess feasibility, viability, desirability, and strategic fit of new initiatives.
- Prepare presentations for senior leadership on research findings and recommendations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- At least 7+ years of business experience in financial services and/or corporate strategy, product management, or management consulting.
- Bachelor’s degree in business or finance.
- Curious problem solver with ability to bring big ideas to life; creative, scrappy, and able to navigate a large organization.
- MBA preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights.
- Solid business acumen ensuring market insights are relevant and practical.
- Proven track record communicating to senior leadership, motivating, and influencing peers.
- Ability to toggle between strategic thinking and detail orientation.
- Prior experience in market segmentation—including sizing, pricing, competitive landscape, channel analysis, and VOC (voice of customer).
- Readiness to roll up sleeves and apply quantitative methodology to drive selection processes.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite; advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Annual salary ranging from $93,000 to $189,000; actual compensation varies by location, experience, and education, with eligibility for incentive compensation plans.
