Job Summary
Develops, implements, and leads health, safety, environmental, and emergency preparedness programs for a facility.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement pertinent training; develop, implement, and lead health, safety, environmental, and emergency preparedness programs; maintain the overall health, safety, environmental, and emergency preparedness program.
Understand and implement relevant legal, regulatory, and corporate requirements as defined by agencies such as OSHA, EPA, state regulations, corporate requirements, DOC, and the Department of Homeland Security.
Co‑chair the facility Safety, Health and Wellness Committees and serve as the primary contact for facility health and wellness issues, communicating relevant information with facility site management.
Serve as the facility Emergency Coordinator, leading emergency preparedness for Emergency Response Medical Teams.
Represent the facility on corporate occupational, health, safety, and environmental committees, as required.
Conduct occupational, safety and environmental audits with facility Health, Safety and Environmental Management departments, applying appropriate company rules and guidelines.
Participate in the maintenance of quality procedures and develop and conduct training programs, providing counseling, mentoring, and coaching.
Act as a company representative in various capacities to customers, suppliers, and outside agencies, interacting effectively with all levels of employees throughout the company.
Exercise independent decision‑making and initiative in determining needs and planning implementation, performing problem solving, creative technical and analytical work, budget management, and hands‑on applications.
Coordinate programs including planning, scheduling, ordering, and tracking; demonstrate adaptability and responsiveness to changing work needs and willingness to undertake new tasks.
Initiate, develop, lead, and participate in improvement projects while ensuring compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
Maintain confidentiality as required and share work with exempt employees and other OCU employees as necessary.
Manage own work and maintain a flexible schedule to meet priority work demands, participating in self‑ and team audits and corrective actions, and engaging in continuous learning.
Travel as required by the position.
Additional ResponsibilitiesManage the Powerfleet PIV management system within the Accelera Electrified Power CEP space, tracking medical evaluations, training, and licenses.
Field technical issues with the Powerfleet tool on the floor and coordinate with the Powerfleet support team.
Maintain existing Accelera Velocity EHS risk assessment (project Heart) entries and enter new risk assessments as they arise.
Track training and maintain general records for Accelera functions, serving as a subject‑matter expert in cross‑functional teams supporting various programs within the greater CEP Health and Safety Management system.
