Nationwide Financial is looking for a consultant to support our Annuities Sales Enablement team by planning and executing high-impact events that help drive business results. Must work a hybrid schedule (three days per week) from Columbus, OH.
Job Description SummaryAs a Consultant, you’ll plan high‑impact events for Nationwide Financial teams. This includes end‑to‑end meeting management, event strategy and delivery for Due Diligence meetings, Leader Summits, partner/firm meetings, Lunch and Learns and Road Shows. You will collaborate with corporate events to ensure seamless delivery across all formats.
Key Responsibilities- Manage every aspect of event preparation: venue and menu selection, logistics, presenters, invitations, pre‑ and post‑event evaluations, and outcome reporting.
- Set strategy and overall plan for all events throughout the year for the assigned area/team.
- Provide the meeting experience for senior‑level management, including executive summaries, prep calls, and logistics.
- Build relationships with partners to align event goals with business objectives.
- Use data and feedback to propose improvements for future events.
- Develop best‑practice documentation for easy replication and increased impact.
- Act as primary contact with vendors, presenters, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful execution.
- Control timelines, assess risks, and revise project plans as needed.
- Drive ROI analysis by collecting and evaluating event data to determine success and recommend future programs.
- Lead complex project teams for in‑person, virtual, or hybrid events, covering travel, lodging, attendee management, speakers, entertainment, A/V, production, decor, gifts, collateral, and onsite management.
- Manage event budgets, justify expenditures, and secure approvals for overages.
- Negotiate with vendors to secure favorable terms and maintain strong relationships.
- Vet and prepare external speakers to ensure content alignment.
- Collaborate with Corporate Events for large‑scale events.
- Serve as the voice of leaders and provide leadership or mentorship to lower‑level planners.
- Ensure compliance with gifting, travel, meals, and related restrictions for NF meetings and events.
- Assume additional responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, event planning, or a related field.
- 7+ years of corporate event planning or related experience (preferred).
- Expert knowledge of event planning processes and procedures.
- Highly organized with strong vendor‑management skills.
- Exceptional multitasking ability and prioritization.
- Strong consulting skills with proven ability to deliver results.
- Proven budgeting skills and allocation management.
- Influence without direct authority and negotiate favorable vendor terms.
- Excellent communication and attention to detail.
- Leadership capability and flexibility in fast‑moving environments.
- Analytical decision making based on budgetary and practical considerations.
- Overtime eligibility: exempt (not eligible).
- Work environment: normal office with occasional evenings or weekends.
- Travel required.
- Non‑standard or extended work may be required based on project needs.
- ADA compliance: duties may be modified for individuals with disabilities.
Salary range: $87,000.00 – $ (actual salary within this range will depend on experience, qualifications, and market). Potential for sales incentives for applicable sales roles.
