Contracts Specialist

Coordinates contract activity with low risk to business unit and agreement complexity, per Corporate and Contracts policy. Work typically consists of repetitive functions under supervision. Handles routine or standard contract agreements and related documentation in accordance with specific instructions and established work procedures.

• Participates with senior staff in the analysis of contract requirements, special provisions, terms, and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations and Battelle policies.
• Coordinates proposal issues requiring the expertise of other groups, proposes solutions to problems encountered in negotiations and assists in solving problems that may arise during contract performance.
• Contributes to the development of the general proposal/contracting strategy.
• Enters data into the contracting system. Reviews and audits data for completeness and accuracy including risk questionnaire, associated proposal documentation, and required proposal review.
• Assists in the development of contracting strategies in partnership with internal clients.
• Reviews proposal and contracting data entered in company system(s) for completeness and accuracy.
• Participates with senior staff in the response to unusual or potential business and contractual performance problems.
• Participates in Contract Closeouts, including document closeout, management, and development of reports for department and internal client review. Provides support as needed.

• Requires a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and or experience in a related field.

Battelle is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role is $55,400 - $77,600 per year, in addition to our comprehensive benefits package. A candidate’s salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to education, relevant work experience, skills, and certifications. Salary ranges may vary based on geographic location and market conditions.
