This role offers the opportunity to drive business transformation and modernization initiatives within a large-scale healthcare operations environment.

The Business Lead will act as a critical connection point between operational stakeholders and technical delivery teams, ensuring business needs are translated into effective solutions.

This position focuses on improving processes, developing automation strategies, and supporting data-driven decision-making through innovative technology initiatives.

You will lead requirements gathering, define business rules, and support projects designed to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.

The ideal candidate will bring strong business analysis skills, healthcare operations experience, and the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships.

Accountabilities

The Business Lead will be responsible for guiding business modernization efforts, improving operational processes, and ensuring successful collaboration between business teams and technical delivery groups.

  • Serve as the primary liaison between operational stakeholders and technical teams across areas including intake, applications, claims, appeals, care coordination, benefits coordination, pharmacy, and clinical review operations.
  • Facilitate stakeholder workshops and requirements-gathering sessions, documenting discussions, decisions, and action items to support successful project execution.
  • Develop business requirements, process documentation, workflows, use cases, and functional specifications to translate operational needs into technical solutions.
  • Create and implement business rules that improve automation, reduce manual processes, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Support data integration initiatives by helping define requirements for data extraction, system ingestion, reporting capabilities, and business decision-making.
  • Lead business and workforce optimization planning activities, including recommendations for improving operational performance.
  • Provide project management support for modernization initiatives, including coordinating project plans, tracking milestones, and supporting delivery teams.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and technical teams to ensure solutions align with business objectives.
  • Monitor project progress, scope, schedules, budgets, risks, and issues while contributing to status reporting activities.
  • Support transformation efforts by identifying opportunities for process improvements and technology-enabled efficiencies.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have experience leading business delivery initiatives, managing complex projects, and supporting healthcare or government modernization programs.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience managing projects or leading business delivery initiatives for a large organization, government agency, or healthcare environment.
  • Experience facilitating stakeholder discussions and developing business requirements, business rules, process flows, and functional documentation.
  • Experience supporting data, automation, systems modernization, or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Background working with healthcare operations such as claims, eligibility, applications, or related service delivery processes is preferred.
  • Experience supporting complex federal government programs and client relationships.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar project management credential preferred.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, competing deadlines, and complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly present ideas, solutions, and recommendations both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to quickly understand complex business challenges and translate them into actionable solutions.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders, technical teams, and leadership.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
