Elevate Northland is seeking a passionate and experienced Business Advisor to provide one-on-one coaching, technical assistance, and business education through our newly awarded Minority Business Assistance Center (MBAC) serving Central Ohio. The MBAC helps entrepreneurs and small business owners across nine counties start, stabilize, and grow successful businesses by providing no-cost advising, training, resource navigation, and connections to opportunities that create long-term economic impact.
This on-site position is an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of entrepreneurs while helping advance Elevate Northland's mission of uplifting people of diverse backgrounds and creating opportunities. Selected candidate will need to have required CBA certification within six months of starting.
What You'll Do- Provide one-on-one business coaching and technical assistance to entrepreneurs and small business owners.
- Guide clients in business planning, financial planning, operational readiness, marketing strategies, and access-to-capital preparation.
- Conduct business readiness assessments and develop action plans for growth.
- Facilitate workshops, training, and educational programs for entrepreneurs.
- Connect clients to community resources, lenders, and specialized business support partners.
- Represent Elevate Northland and MBAC at community events, networking opportunities, and outreach activities.
- Maintain client documentation and program reporting per contract requirements.
- Experience in business advising, entrepreneurship support, consulting, lending, economic development, supplier diversity, procurement, or small business ownership.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to help entrepreneurs translate ideas into action.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
- Knowledge of business planning, financial analysis, and access to capital.
- Experience working with diverse and underserved communities.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
- Certified Business Advisor (CBA) preferred; candidates who are not certified must obtain certification within six months of hire.

Full-Time | Columbus, Ohio | $57,000-$62,000 annualized salary based on experience plus benefits. Upon satisfactory completion of the CBA certification, candidate will receive an additional increase of $2,000.
