Job Description
Summary:
Serves as the primary operational coordinator for faculty affairs initiatives within the Department of Pediatrics at Nationwide Children's Hospital and The Ohio State University. This role supports the administration and execution of faculty development, academic advancement, recruitment, onboarding, and faculty lifecycle processes while ensuring compliance, operational excellence, and alignment with departmental strategic priorities.
Job Description:
Essential Functions:
Coordinate faculty affairs programs and operations for the Department of Pediatrics by supporting processes and initiatives related to faculty development, academic advancement, professional engagement, and faculty lifecycle management. Administer and support faculty development initiatives sponsored by the Center for Faculty Development (CFD), including educational programs, mentorship activities, faculty engagement efforts, and professional development opportunities. Support faculty recruitment, onboarding, and transition processes to facilitate positive faculty experiences and ensure timely completion of required activities and documentation.
Coordinate academic appointment, promotion, and tenure activities by maintaining records, monitoring milestones, interpreting applicable policies and procedures, ensuring compliance requirements are met, and supporting achievement of established deadlines. Maintain faculty affairs systems, records, communications, and reporting tools to support operational effectiveness, data integrity, decision-making, and departmental needs. Partner with faculty, departmental leadership, the CFD, and institutional stakeholders to implement strategic initiatives, improve processes, and advance faculty development goals.
Provide comprehensive operational, project, and administrative support through coordination of meetings, events, communications, calendars, resources, and special initiatives that support the Chair's Office, CFD, and other faculty affairs functions.
Education Requirement:
Bachelor s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
Skills:
Excellent computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Web Ex, and Zoom. Demonstrated ability to plan, direct, and evaluate the work of support staff. Strong data analysis, problem-solving, and analytical thinking skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational, project planning, and time management skills.
Experience:
Considerable experience in program planning and administration, required. Considerable experience with and knowledge of academic appointment, promotion, and tenure processes, preferred. Experience organizing and managing program materials, preferred.
